Dr. Stephen Barrett, DMD
Dr. Stephen Barrett is a general dentist at Inspire Dental in Tigard. A lifelong Oregonian, Dr. Barrett grew up in Eugene and attended the University of Oregon before earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU).
He began practicing in the Eugene area in 2018, where he spent several years at a federally qualified health center providing dental care to underserved communities throughout Lane County. That work also gave him the opportunity to help train the next generation of dentists, serving as adjunct clinical faculty for both Oregon Health & Science University and the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health.
Dr. Barrett joined the Inspire Dental team in June 2026, and is now welcoming patients in Tigard.

Dr. Marcus Hwang, DDS, MD
Dr. Marcus Hwang is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Inspire Dental in Tigard. He grew up in Seattle taking apart cars and engines, and he always liked knowing how things fit together. Today he puts that same curiosity and steady hands to work caring for patients.
Dr. Hwang holds both a dental and a medical degree. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Washington and his Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He then completed general surgery training and a full oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at OHSU, where he served as chief resident. This training lets him care for the teeth, jawbone, nerves, and airway together.
His work focuses on the jaw, and he has written textbook chapters and journal articles on jaw surgery, chin surgery, cleft care, and nerve repair. He also shares practical surgical tips online with thousands of dentists and dental students. At Inspire Dental, he provides wisdom teeth removal, IV sedation, and other oral surgery.
Outside the office, Dr. Hwang is a husband and dad who spends most weekends at the park with his kids. He still loves cars, stays active, and travels whenever he can.
